Panasonic SC-PM41 compact stereo system
Date Published: 1/9/08
Lately, compact stereos seem to offer only two choices: sleek executive minisystems or outrageous monster packages. The Panasonic SC-PM41 is an interesting blend of both; it has an elegant look accented with just enough aggression to give hint of its considerable power.
The SC-PM41 is centered on a five-disc CD changer and a 160-watt amplifier. The speakers are wired in a bi-amplified design to bring out the best from each component of the three-way speakers, and the top-mounted tweeters produce a clear, bright sound. The system is compatible with CD-R/RW, and it can also play MP3 files burned to disc. The five-line display makes it easy to navigate through MP3 folders, and it can also display CD Text information.
The SC-PM41 has a very good sound that can be enhanced with preset equalization curves. The lower audio levels can be supplemented with harmonized bass, and the system can create a pseudo-surround sound field. The package also includes a cassette deck and an AM/FM tuner.
The Panasonic SC-PM41 is a very good executive system for anyone with a bit of an edge.
