Panasonic MC-V9644 Powerhead Canister

Panasonic offers less expensive models, but the MC-V9644 Powerhead Canister has some features that make it worth the extra money. Because this model has a bare floor switch, it is effective for vacuuming both floors and carpets. This bare floor switch turns off the brushroll that directs dirt into the hose and prevents it from blowing dirt around the room while you vacuum on floors. The switch also helps to prevent the scratching of expensive hard wood floors by debris that is picked up.
The MC-V9644's separate powerhead provides more agitation than a typical basic or turbo canister and makes this model an efficient remover of soil that is trapped or ground into carpet fibers. The head on this model features its own drive system that propels the brushes. With a 14-inch cleaning path, this canister vacuum can clean a large room far faster than any model with the usual 12-inch span. And with four height selections, it can efficiently deep clean regardless of the depth of pile you're vacuuming. A power overload nozzle protects the motor and belt from the common problem of overheating and burnout by shutting down the machine if a clog develops. Four cleaning attachments come with this model and can be stored neatly in the covered compartment; this compartment keeps them right at hand so they are always just a fingertip away when you need them.
Easy to maneuver, this model has a hose with a full 360 degree turning radius. This keeps the machine from tipping and ensures that it follows along wherever you choose to go. The attached cord measures 24 feet, an increase of 4 feet over previous models; it is sufficient enough to clean most moderately sized rooms without having to find another plug in the wall. The Panasonic MC-V9644 Powerhead Canister, unlike some designs, does require the purchase of disposable vacuum bags. Like this canister vacuum, these bags are available primarily from independent vacuum dealers.
