Lightweight, yet traditionally styled, the MC-V7314 upright from Panasonic requires a disposable U6 replacement bag.

Constructed primarily of plastic, this model is less durable than the Panasonic uprights of just a few years ago. If you loved the old Panasonic uprights--beware. This is just not the same model.

On the flip side though, this model does offer some convenience features worth having and a new lower price tag than seen on previous models. With 12 amps of current, this model, like the older ones, continues to offer plenty of suction. A relatively new addition is the HEPA filter, which is a popular catch word for filtration that removes allergens and pollutants from the air.

The head adjusts automatically to carpet height, making it a good choice for a home with varying types of pile floor coverings. Also helpful is the headlight, which helps to illuminate any carpet soil as you maneuver the cleaner. Quick-draw attachments allow you to unclip the hose and handle for any above-the-floor cleaning within a reach of 12.5 feet.

With a 28-foot retractable cord, this model can clean a large room without ever having to move the plug to another outlet. This model comes with two tools: a crevice cleaner and a multipurpose brush.

Appropriate for bare floors as well as for carpets, the Panasonic MC-V7314has an agitator on/off switch. Two 14-inch brushrolls and dual-edge cleaners cover a lot of ground in one swipe and get fairly close to the wall when picking up dirt.
