Part of Oster's Inspire Collection, the 6-Speed Retractable Cord Hand Mixer 2534 is designed to satisfy a variety of mixing requirements. This unit comes with two traditional chrome beaters, two heavy-duty dough hooks, plus a wire whisk attachment and drink mixing rod. You also get two metal cookie cutter molds for use with rolled cookie dough.

The mixer is equipped with a 250-watt motor, which is capable of handling all the basic tasks--from stirring and mixing to blending and whipping. The mixer has a closed handle design with a flat end that won't tip when placed upright to let the batter drip off the beaters, or to stir or add extra ingredients. Oster has also cleverly added soft-grip rubber trim to the end of the mixer, as well as  to the handle grip and to a groove on the underside of the mixer body, where the mixer can securely rest against a mixing bowl without slipping. A thumb-operated control activates the six mixing speeds, which provide a range of power from low to high. The same button also acts as a beater eject button. A separate burst of power button allows for an added boost to any of the six speeds.

When you are done mixing, turn the speed control switch off, and press firmly to eject the beaters. The accessories add to the unit's versatility. We especially liked the drink mixing rod, which has an immersion blender-like quality that enables it to blend a frothy drink directly in a plastic or metal cup. Another handy feature is the retractable cord, which is activated by touching a button on the side of the mixer. The cord automatically pulls itself into a slot inside the mixer for clutter-free storage.
