OSN (One Source Network) OS 250

Date Published: 6/28/05

The prime purpose of any tripod is to provide a sturdy support for your camera. But there are many sizes and weights of cameras, so there are a wide variety of tripods designed for good support for different cameras.

Sometimes a shorter-than-usual tabletop tripod that compacts down to a very short and light package is preferable, as when you need to carry it along in the field. If small size and lightweight are essential to your needs in a tripod, then you should consider this exceptionally small tripod. The OS 250 tilt-top head looks like most large models, but the legs are stubby and only extend to 24.5 inches at maximum extension above the surface it's placed on.

But, when fully compacted, it's only a bit more than 12 inches long, so it's very easy to put the tripod into a gadget bag or backpack and easily carry anywhere. It will securely hold a compact 35mm or digital camera or a small SLR without a large lens.

When a not-too-tall tabletop tripod is all you require, the OSN OS 250 will do the job very well.
