Nikon Travelite V Zoom Binoculars 8-24x25

Date Published: 3/24/03

The Nikon Travelite V Zoom are popular, especially with birders and hikers, as they have good power, a fine zoom ratio (8-24x), super sturdiness, black rubber armor, an all-metal frame, and a carbon fiber body. The focus is done with a central knob, and there is a click diopter adjustment. Everything seems to fall to hand readily and operate smoothly. Nikon's reputation for top-quality optics is reinforced here, with a porro prism that uses BAK 4 technology to give the greatest sharpness and superb light transmission. This is a multipurpose optic. The Travelite V probably won't do for a night at the opera because of the black rubber case, but for travel, birding, or almost anything outdoors in weather that is great or rotten, they are ready to go. Easily stashable in a large pocket or small bag, they can always be at hand when needed, and they're light enough to handle with great ease.
