Mr. Coffee Home Cafe Single-Serve Coffeemaker AT13

The Mr. Coffee Home Cafe Single-Serve Coffeemaker AT13 is a unique machine that lets you brew a single-serving of coffee, tea, or specialty beverages such as cappuccino. The unit consists of a brewing tower, removable plastic water container, removable cup stand/drip tray, and filters for three different sized pods. The brew head is adjustable to fit taller, travel-style mugs as well as shorter ones. Pods are pre-measured and pre-packed coffee grounds that have been sealed between layers of filter paper so all you have to do is drop one into the filter holder and hit the brew button.
The unit utilizes a pressure brewing system to force just the exact amount of water through the pod to achieve a flavorful cup of coffee in about 1 minute. Indicator lights let you know when it's ready to brew again. Before first use, the unit needs to be primed, which causes the boiler to be filled with water. Be sure the water chamber is properly seated on the base before you begin. Once you've primed the unit, making coffee is as simple as choosing your pod, inserting the right filter, and pressing a button. There are five buttons on the unit for 7-ounce, 9-ounce, 14-ounce, and specialty drinks, as well as an off button. The water reservoir holds about 32 ounces (4 cups) of water or enough to make several drinks, depending on the selected size. The reservoir removes easily for refilling so making additional drinks right away is no problem.
The unit comes with an initial supply of Folgers and Millstone pods. You can purchase more in stores or online. We especially liked the cappuccino pods, which are ready to drink with a delicious layer of creamy froth on top. Another interesting feature is the rotating water reservoir, which provides easy access when it's time to refill the chamber. The unit is also rather compact, standing 12 inches tall, with a 5x8-inch footprint. Because you dispose of the sealed pods as you use them there's very little cleanup. The filter assembly lifts out so you can rinse it between uses. Periodic decalcifying (running a cycle with water and vinegar) will also keep the unit operating at its best.
