Mongoose Domain BMX bicycle

Date Published: 6/27/06

The Mongoose Domain is a 26 inch dual suspension BMX bike that retails for well under $200. That in itself should tell you a lot about this bike.

While it's sturdy enough with an oversize tubing frame, this is not a BMX intended for serious off-road biking. If you're looking for a BMX to ride primarily in urban settings or on moderate bicycle trails, however, the Mongoose Domain offers excellent value for money.

As well as front fork suspension, this BMX adds a heavy-duty shock to the back wheel and offers a 21 speed drive train and SRAM components. There's no high-end comfort with this BMX and you'll probably want to change the saddle before clocking up too many miles. The design of the frame makes it awkward to position accessories such as a water bottle or bicycle lock. T

hese are minor quibbles though. For the average rider, the Mongoose Domain BMX bike is a great deal.

Pros: Dual-suspension frame, racing shock fork, 21-speed drive train, SRAM components, inexpensive price
Cons: Not durable enough for heavy off-road biking, uncomfortable saddle
