The WD-62827 is a 62-inch DLP HDTV that includes a 160GB digital video recorder that can store up to 16 hours of HD programming. The DVR enables you to pause live TV, instantly replay a scene, and select programs from the on-screen program guide to record later. The wide-format screen is set into a simple black cabinet, with stereo speakers in the base.

The picture displays at 1,080p, with deep blacks, excellent contrast, and a high level of detail. Twin tuners make it possible to watch one program while recording another and to use the picture-in-picture functions to watch two programs at once, either in HD or standard format. The two-way stereo speakers produce a total of 20 watts of audio output, and the audio can be set to maintain a stable volume level regardless of the program.

The WD-62827's connectivity options are impressive, with one front and two rear audio/video/S-video inputs, two RF inputs, three component video inputs, three FireWire (IEEE 1394) connectors (one on the front panel), two HDMI inputs (one compatible with VGA-XGA signals), a multiformat memory card reader, and both analog and digital audio outputs. The WD-62827 includes a multibrand remote control with fully illuminated buttons.
