Midland 75-822 Handheld CB Radio with Vehicle Adapter
Date Published: 9/18/06
Capable of accessing 40 CB channels and 10 NOAA weather channels, Midland 75-822 is designed like classic CB handsets with the push-to-talk button on the side. But the unit also includes a backlit LCD that displays information such as signal strength and channel number.
Power is supplied through the cigarette lighter adapter, or you can insert six AA batteries into the battery pack for when you're outside of your car. The downside of the product is that range is less than a mile, but extends to four miles if you attach the unit to the included whip antenna. The 75-822 also has knobs on the top of the unit for squelch and volume.
For consumers put off by unreliable 2-way radios or for those that like having access to weather conditions from professional sources (or from the often more reliable truckers), this is a good option.
Pros: nice design, NOAA channels, battery pack
Cons: requires whip antenna for improved range
Warranty
1-year limited
