The Maverick Diet Kitchen Scale SC-01 is a classic diet scale with a front measurement dial, raised weighing platform, and rectangular plastic "basket," which holds the items or ingredients to be weighed.

The unit is quite compact, measuring a scant 8 inches tall, 5.5 inches wide, and 4.25 inches deep. This unit requires no batteries. You simply turn the adjustment wheel until the needle points to zero. You can use this same technique to "zero" the scale after each addition if you are weighing multiple ingredients. The SC-01 has a 2.2-pound (1 kilogram) capacity and weighs in 0.2 ounce (5 gram) increments. The supplied weighing basket holds about 1 cup of loose ingredients.
