MadCatz GameShark Media Manager for PSP console accessory

While the PlayStation Portable is primarily a game playing device, it can handle a variety of media files with the right video game console accessory. MadCatz GameShark Media Manager for PSP purports to be that accessory.
The Media Manager consists of a USB connector for your PSP and the software itself. MadCatz even tosses in a video DVD from musical group Nine Inch Nails--almost worth the $15 price tag for this video game console accessory by itself.
The software is easy enough to install and use. The main interface features a window for files on your PC (game saves, photos, music, and videos), one for your PSP's Memory Stick contents if it's connected, and a file information window. There's an RSS ticker that runs across the bottom of the application with the latest PSP news (you can customize it for any RSS feed).
Copying files from PC to PSP--or vice versa--can be handled by highlighting the file and clicking the appropriate button or simply dragging and dropping the file where you want it to go. The Media Manager software automatically converts video files to a format that your PSP can understand as it transfers them.
This video game console accessory worked great for photos, MP3s, and game saves. We were able to download game saves from GameShark.com and then easily transfer them over to our PSP for use. And the Media Manager made it easy to organize MP3 files and create play lists before transferring music over to our PSP.
Where the video game console accessory had less success was with video files. The PSP can only play MP4 video files, and often needs accessory files to play them. The Media Manager was able to convert some files to a playable format, having the most success with QuickTime.
Still, the MadCatz GameShark Media Manager for PSP provides excellent value for the money. If you're not looking exclusively for converting and transferring video files, this is a great video game console accessory to get your media files to your PSP.
Pro: Drag and drop easy, includes NIN DVD
Con: Doesn't convert all video files
