Lowe Alpine Mira Air ND 35 daypack backpack
Date Published: 6/15/06
The Mira Air ND 35 is a daypack backpack specifically designed for women. It offers surprisingly large capacity for a daypack, as well as a number of features that would allow it to function well on a longer day hike. It could also be used as a school backpack, but that would be a waste of its many features. The Mira Air ND 35 uses Lowe Alpine's new Pure Air Zone back panel that places the pack away from the wearer, allowing better air circulation, thus helping to avoid the dreaded sweaty back. The backing system is fully adjustable, the hip belt is lightly padded, the sternum strap has a sliding attachment, and the harness is body shaped, all allowing a more comfortable fit.
The Mira Air ND 35, as with most daypack backpacks, offers zippered panel-loading front access to the 2,100 cubic inch main compartment. Inside, you'll find convenient features such as an internal mesh pocket, key clip, and an internal hydration pocket (and drinking tube port). Rather unusual for a daypack, it offers a zip-out lower divider that is bottom accessible. This is a terrific feature that lets you stash wet or dirty gear separately without soiling other gear. Also unusual for a daypack, there is a detachable rain cover that stashes away in a bottom pocket.
On the exterior, you'll find side compression straps, an ice axe or trekking pole attachment loop, a front mesh pocket, and mesh side water bottle pockets. For safety, there are reflective details on the outside cover. The Mira Air ND 35 daypack backpack is a not a low-cost school-only backpack. Rather, it is a higher-priced daypack that is fully suitable for serious outdoor use. The daypack backpack is also available for men as the Tempest Air 35; it has similar design and capacity, but is 2 ounces heavier.
