Little Wonder 1920 hedge trimmer

The Little Wonder 1920 corded electric hedge trimmer is an excellent tool for trimming and grooming hedges and bushes around the yard. It's more expensive than many electric models, but does the job well and offers extra safety features not found on other trimmers.
The Little Wonder 1920 uses a 4.5-amp electric motor and 19-inch double-edged blades to cut branches up to a 1/2 inch in diameter. The blades operate in a dual-reciprocating fashion for efficient cutting. For safety, two switches, one on each handle, have to be depressed simultaneously to engage the blades, and the blades stop within a 1/2 second if either of the switches is released. The hardened steel blades are reinforced with a solid steel bar, so this hedge trimmer should last a long time and cut for a long time on each sharpening. The ball-bearing-mounted motor is double insulated.
We found the Little Wonder to be well named. It cut both old and new growth of up to about a 1/2 inch in diameter cleanly, quickly, and easily. We were able to cut in both directions thanks to the double-sided, dual-reciprocating blades, which reduced the time it took to complete the job. We found that, with rapidly moving sharp blades, the safety switches were reassuring and not difficult to use. The electric hedge trimmer started easily and ran smoothly, and since it is not a gas model, we didn't have to bother with mixing fuel or breathing in fumes. The Little Wonder feels solidly constructed.
The manufacturer says the angled gear teeth create greater torque for better cutting. The Little Wonder 1920 is also available in a 220-volt version.
This model offers all the hedge and bush grooming capability most homeowners need in the convenience of an electric hedge trimmer. It cuts cleanly, quickly and relatively safely up to 100 feet of an electrical outlet. But it is rather expensive.
Pros: Well constructed, safety features, good performance
Cons: Relatively expensive
