LG Electronics WM2032H

The WM2032H front-loader is one of the models in LG Electronics' first-ever line of laundry products. Available since late 2001, dealers have been slow to stock this machine with its unusual technology. Instead of the typical belt and pulley system, this machine utilizes a direct drive motor. This type of motor reduces vibration, resulting in quieter operation and less overall wear and tear on the machine. The advantage of this system is a longer machine life and fewer repairs. The disadvantage is that if and when a repair is needed, the technology is largely unfamiliar to the typical American laundry repairman. As a result, it may pose a challenge when a service call is required. Billed by LG as the "front-load washer with the largest capacity," this machine is indeed very spacious and can easily handle the laundry needs of a large family. It is estimated that it will hold 15 pounds of laundry in its 3.72-cubic-foot stainless-steel drum. In addition to being quiet, durable, and spacious, this washer is also very efficient. It is Energy Star compliant with an estimated energy usage of 191 kwh/yr. Water usage is only 12.9 gallons of water per cycle. A 12 hour delay timer can be used to make it even more efficient, by taking advantage of lower water rates. Beyond efficiency, this machine is also convenient, with automated electronic controls. Adding to the automation is the sensor system, which adjusts the water level and cycle to the weight and size of each load. Cycle selection is done by simply setting the dial to the fabric type you are washing. The upwardly tilted tub makes for easy loading and unloading. With seven cycles, five temperature combinations and a choice of five spin speeds, this washer can handle anything your family can dish out.
