A bit out of the ordinary, the full-size LG Electronics LRM2060 microwave oven offers an unusual rounded interior cavity. The idea behind this rounded interior is to allow as large a turntable as possible to be placed in the oven -- that way even the very largest of dishes has the benefit of rotation through the microwave energy field. The rounded design also serves to eliminate the corners that can be a challenge to keep clean.

Although an interesting feature that differentiates this model, the rounded interior adds little if anything to the actual performance of the oven. This is not to say that the LRM2060 is not a good-performing oven, for indeed it is. It offers an accurate sensor that controls both cooking and reheating. Six automated programs make quick work of commonly prepared foods. The 1200 watts of microwave power provide fast cooking of the large family size servings that fit into this expansive 2.0-cubic-foot model.

We like the fact that unlike many reasonably priced microwave ovens the LRM2060 can be purchased with a trim kit and converted into a built-in unit. Use this kit to save space by installing the microwave in a cabinet, either by itself or over a 30-inch wall oven of your choice. As more and more manufacturers force buyers into very high-priced microwaves simply for built-in convenience, it is refreshing to see that LG maintains the practice of manufacturing these convenient trim kits.

As desirable as many higher priced models, LG's LRM2060 offers an outstanding array of features, including a sensor, an optional trim kit and an attractive and desirable stainless-steel cabinet. Dollar for dollar this microwave oven is an outstanding value.
