LG Electronics LDF8812 built-in dishwasher
Date Published: 4/25/08
You will always know what's going on in the LG Electronics LLDF8812 built-in dishwasher because it is loaded with indicator lights. This dishwasher lets you know which cycle is in use and uses blue lights to let you know where in the cycle your load is at present -- wash, rinse or dry. When the load is complete, a green indicator is lit for four minutes alerting you that everything is finished. If you struggle to keep track of what's happening in your dishwasher, this model may be the one for you. You'll always know when it's running and you will have a good idea when your dishes will be done.
The emphasis on good lighting doesn't just stop with the exterior indicator lights. Inside the LDF8812 there are two interior IllumiTub bulbs that make it easy to find every last item in the dishwasher. No forgotten glassware or stray silverware will ever be left in this unusual model.
Although the lighting in this dishwasher is what makes it unique, what we really like is the flexibility. Three power levels are provided and can be directed at your choice of the upper or lower racks. In one load, for example, you can select soft intensity for crystal in the top and strong intensity for pots and pans in the bottoms. A unique way to customize a load, this system ensures the deal washing conditions for varying levels of soil within each load.
The intensity isn't the only useful adjustment that's included on LG's LDF8812. The adjustable top rack is incredibly convenient as well. Move it upward to fit large stock pots in the bottom rack or adjust it downward to hold stemware up to 12 inches high in the top. You can even run just half a load, top or bottom, if you need just a few items washed quickly and efficiently.
What we like best about this model is that, although equipped with impressive and usual lighting, it has the ability to custom clean every load to your exact specifications. Sleek and stainless with an exterior that looks like most dishwashers, it's the inside operation that makes the LG Electronics LDF8812 stand out from the crowd.
Pros: Flexible intensity settings within each load, adjustable upper rack, half load option, unusual lighting
Cons: So many lights yet it lacks the convenience of a rinse aid indicator
