LG Electronics LP6000ER air conditioner

The LG Electronics LP6000ER air conditioner is a workhorse disguised as a pony; its diminutive size belies its power. This LG lightweight model effectively cools rooms up to about 200 square feet with ease. It features clean lines and an off-white color, but we believe one of its most appealing qualities is its low-profile design. It is only about 12 inches in height; the low profile design allows one to not only see out the window, but also benefit from natural light. Plus, this model has a flat faceplate that sits nearly flush with the windowsill, making it possible to lower the blinds or draw the drapes for light control.
Like many new generation air conditioners designed for wall or window use, the LG LP6000ER has a remote control for across-the-room adjustment. The remote has more features than some of the LG's competitors; the remote includes an LCD display with easy-to-read information on the air conditioner's temperature, settings, fan speed and timer. The air conditioner has multi-directional vents to adjust the cool air output.
With its housing comprised mostly of heavy-duty plastic, it doesn't seem to have the metal parts required to produce an annoying vibrating noise. The result? A quietly running air conditioner that won't rattle right out of the window. Of course, the litmus test for any air conditioner is how well it cools, a function that is problematic for some wall/window units. The LG LP6000ER, however, cools small rooms in seemingly record time. In fact, we ran the unit most often on its lowest setting because it worked so efficiently. We recommend this model not only for its powerful performance, but also for its small, easy-to-install size and its convenient remote.
Pros: Small size, remote with LCD display
Cons: Only cools one room of about 200 square feet
