The 23LX1RV is a 23-inch HD-ready combination TV/DVD player that brings together a widescreen TFT LCD screen that can display computer content, and a flexible DVD player that can also handle CD, VCD, and even JPEG-loaded discs. The slim black monitor can be used with or without the pedestal stand, and the 23LX1RV has built-in stereo speakers flanking the screen.

Native resolution is 1,366X768p, and the 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angle means the screen can be viewed from virtually anywhere in a room. The 23LX1RV's stereo speakers produce a total of 14 watts of audio output, with five audio presets and automatic volume control. The DVD player can fast-forward at speeds up to 100X, and it will play DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, CD-R/RW, VCD, and discs containing MP3 audio files and JPEG images.

LG Electronics has certainly packed the 23LX1RV with convenience features, including sleep and on/off timers, parental V-chip controls, and favorite channel memory. Connecting additional components is easy, as the 23LX1RV has a side composite video/S-video input, as well as a rear composite video input, component video input, RGB input for PC or DTV, RF input, digital audio output, audio/video output, and remote control output. The 23LX1RV package is rounded out by a universal remote control that has backlit buttons for easy use in the dark.
