Those looking for a multifunction device that provides an emphasis on color photo printing will want to place the Lexmark X8350 on their short list. This unit does not offer a lot of top-end features, but it does provide a nice value at less than $150.
The X8350 can use up to six inks for printing photos at a maximum resolution of 4800x1200 dpi, and it accepts several types of memory cards for direct printing using the multifunction device's built-in, 2.36-inch LCD screen. It can print at speeds up to 25 ppm in black and 19 ppm in color in draft mode (although photo-quality prints are much slower).
The X8350's copier function can reduce or enlarge the original at between 25 and 400 percent, and it offers a top copy speed of 25 ppm. The scanner has a maximum optical scan resolution of 1200X2400 dpi.
The X8350's fax function is good, offering speeds of 20 ppm for sending documents along with a 50-sheet automatic document feeder.
Pros: Good photo-printing features
Cons: Can be slow when printing at highest quality
