The Le Creuset The Whistling Kettle Q3100 is a traditional round kettle with an 8-inch wide flat-bottom base and 2-inch tapered spout.

The kettle, constructed of heavy-gauge steel, coated with a super-hard glossy enamel, is available in a choice of four vibrant colors: white, red, blue, or flame. The kettle has a tight-fitting lid, which seals in heat for a more rapid boil. Two sturdy stainless-steel brackets hold the kettle handle directly above the lid.

This design offers excellent balance for pouring. Both the lid and the handle are made from heatproof phenolic plastic for a stay-cool grip. This model has a capacity of 1.8 quarts and the flat-bottom makes this kettle ideal for use on all stovetops--gas, electric, enamel, and ceramic. The entire interior is also coated with enamel--even up to the spout--to prevent rusting and preserve the beauty of the kettle.

We were impressed by the lid design, which is constructed of a domed piece of enameled steel (in the coordinating color of course) attached to the knob, plus a second flat disc of stainless-steel that is crimped around the bottom of the lid, thereby creating a tight seal and preventing steam and residual water droplets from condensing inside the dome.
