Kodak EasyShare EX811 Digital Picture Frame

Date Published: 10/24/07

Kodak thought of everything with its EasyShare EX811 digital picture frame. The 8-inch screen (measured diagonally) is very sharp, and its contrast ratio and brightness are both above average. The image quality with this frame is only about average, but the extra features more than make up for it.

You have several options for supplying photos to the EX811. You can insert any of six different memory card formats, connect a computer or jump drive through a USB input or utilize the EX811's 128MB of internal memory. This is among the largest amounts of internal memory available in a digital picture frame.

Kodak also includes some handy extras, such as a remote control, making it easy to change the EX811's functions. You can play MP3 files through this model's built-in speakers, adding music to your slideshows. The EX811 also has Wi-Fi wireless networking capabilities, allowing you to upload files from your computer's wireless connection. Overall, the EX811 is very easy to use.

Unfortunately, the EX811 can't run from a battery, so it must be connected to AC power. The only other significant drawback is the retail price of $229, which is a little high. However, with the fine performance, it remains a good value. If the Kodak EasyShare EX811 fits your budget for a digital picture frame, you won't be disappointed.

Pros: Bright and sharp display, large internal memory, wireless capabilities, good versatility with memory cards, easy to use
Cons: No battery-only option, MSRP is a little high, image quality not exceptional
