KitchenAid KURS24RSBS

Date Published: 12/20/07

The KitchenAid KURS24RSBS Architect Series II is a very fashionable and upscale compact refrigerator with a stainless steel cabinet and nice interior details.

While some compact refrigerators are suited for the dorm, the family room or a corner of an office, the KitchenAid KURS24RSBS is meant to provide supplemental refrigerator space in a well-appointed kitchen or in an upscale wet-bar application. Thanks to its extremely high retail price, you're not likely to find a dorm room with a KURS24RSBS!

The KURS24RSBS can be placed near a cooking area within the kitchen to keep all ingredients close. Alternatively, this unit can serve as the only refrigerator in an area in which you do a lot of entertaining. With a total capacity of 5.7 cubic feet, it has ample space for plenty of beverages and drink mixes.

The KURS24RSBS is energy-efficient, using just 338 kWh of electricity each year. You can expect to pay approximately $31 annually to operate this refrigerator.

The door of the KURS24RSBS has one full-width bottom shelf as well as a top wire can/bottle rack that can hold up to six cans. In the main compartment, you'll find a single glass shelf as well as a split-level white wire shelf, in a "Z" shape; this shelf allows both tall and shorter items to be stored inside the KURS24RSBS with ease. At the bottom, there is a pullout full-width white wire drawer that's great for storing condiment plates and other smaller items. These interior details are fine, but they aren't extraordinary; we feel that they need to be special, considering this model's extravagant price.

This is an all-refrigerator model, so no freezer space is included. The temperature control is in the front of the bottom grille; the dial control is simple and easy to use.

The KURS24RSBS is available in all-stainless steel or in a black cabinet with a stainless steel door.

All in all, this is a nifty refrigerator that provides questionable value due to its lack of noteworthy features and high price tag.

Pros: Lovely upscale design, solid interior appointments, energy efficient
Cons: Pricey, lacks very high-end interior you'd expect from a model in this price range

Warranty
1 year, parts and labor; 5 years, cavity liner and sealed refrigerator system
