KitchenAid KSCS25FT
Date Published: 12/18/07
KitchenAid's KSCS25FT refrigerator is a large-capacity model with lots of bells and whistles. While the price tag is relatively high, this refrigerator is exceptionally well made and nicely featured, so it makes a great choice for a large family that is looking for a fridge with a custom look.
The KitchenAid KSCS25FT is a side-by-side refrigerator with a very shallow depth that allows it to fit in nearly flush with surrounding cabinets. In order to make up for its shallow depth, the KSCS25FT stands very tall, with a height of just under 72 inches. The refrigeration compartment has 14.9 cubic feet of space, while the freezer has 9.6 cubic feet of space. This is an energy-efficient model; it uses about 607 kWh of electricity annually, so you can expect to pay around $55 per year to operate this refrigerator.
The door of the KitchenAid KSCS25FT has a total of five bins, including two opaque, shallow-depth bottom shelves and three clear, adjustable pick-off door bins that are deep enough to accommodate gallon-size containers. This model also features a clear dairy keeper and a can rack that can hold five cans or small bottles.
Within the main compartment are four full-width adjustable glass shelves with a spill-saver feature, as well as one humidity-controlled crisper and a snack drawer. At the bottom, there is a flexible-use bin that can be used either as a meat locker or an additional vegetable crisper. This refrigerator also includes a wine/bottle caddy.
The freezer of the KitchenAid KSCS25FT is also well appointed. Because there is in-door ice -- which means that the entire icemaker apparatus and bucket are conveniently located on the door and not in the main cabinet -- there is quite a bit of extra room in the main freezer compartment. The ice bucket is removable and attractive enough to bring to the table. On the freezer door of the KSCS25FT, you'll find three pick-off plastic bins. The main compartment has four white wire shelves and three slide-out baskets with front panels that make them look and function like drawers.
This unit's through-the-door ice and water delivery system looks smart, with a bright blue LED screen. Controls include ice selection, water, child lock and night-light. Water and ice are delivered via a PuR water filtration system. Upfront interior temperature controls for both fridge and freezer are electronic and very easy to operate.
When purchasing the KSCS25FT, you can choose from white, bisque, black, stainless steel front-only and stainless steel all-around exteriors.
The KitchenAid KSCS25FT is a smart-looking, well-featured refrigerator that will be a source of pride in your kitchen for many years to come.
