KitchenAid KEBC107 built-in electric oven

Date Published: 7/21/08

One of the finest 30-inch single ovens from an American manufacturer, the KitchenAid KEBC107 built-in electric oven is ideal for those who love to cook. Although this oven may cost a bit more than the other choices, it's an excellent model -- especially for those who want to perfect their baking.

Baking is just better in this oven, thanks to the true convection system. True convection employs a third, hidden rear element and a fan to promote the circulation of evenly heated warm air. This warm air bakes foods more evenly and gives you the ability to bake on three racks instead of the usual two.

One of the best features of this oven is the EasyConvect conversion system. Unlike early convection models that required complicated conversions, the KEBC107 does all the converting for you. Simply enter the recipe's conventional temperature setting and cooking time and the EasyConvect calculates proper temperature and cook time for you.

Equally at home with meats as with baked goods, the KEBC107 has specialized features for both roasting and broiling. Beautifully roasted meats can be done using convection and the temperature probe. Simply insert the probe into the meat and cook it perfectly to the proper internal temperature. Broiling can be done to the temperature of your liking and using either econo-broil for 1-2 servings or maxi-broil for a serving large enough to feed the whole family.

All this, plus an easy-to-operate self-cleaning feature makes KitchenAid's KEBC107 -- in stainless steel, black, white or biscuit -- a hard model to beat.

Pros: Excellent convection, with conversion system, variable broil, and temperature probe
Cons: Will cost a bit more than an entry level convection model

Warranty
1 year, full; 5 years, electric element and touchpad
