The Kidde 0918 UL-approved Ionization Smoke Alarm responds to fast-flaming fires.
The 0918 gives you two battery choices. One (part # 440376) houses a carbon zinc battery, while the other (part # 440398) features a lithium battery. The 0918 also has an 85-decibel alarm horn, and a test button for testing circuitry, horn safety light, and battery. It also has a hush feature for silencing nuisance alarms. Homeowners or small business owners may choose to use the battery compartment-locking pin to deter theft or tampering.
The supplied lithium battery is replaceable. Or you can substitute an alkaline battery. Lithium batteries may be subject to disposal restrictions. Check your local government waste disposal center for disposal or recycling procedures for lithium batteries.
Equipped with a safety light for guiding occupants in case of thick smoke, the Kidde Smoke Alarm 0918 ideal for mounting in hallways, over stairs, and near exits.
