Kidde Ionization Smoke Alarm 0910
Date Published: 6/21/06
The Kidde 0910 is an ionization-type smoke detector (best for flaming fires) and is well suited to bedroom and office installations.
Its signature feature is a sealed-in lithium power cell that eliminates the need for battery replacement over the lifetime of the alarm (about 10 years according to the manufacturer). At the end of the life of the unit, a chirping signal will sound every 30 to 45 seconds. The downside, of course, is that the entire alarm will have to be tossed once the battery finally does drain. When the test button is pressed, the LED will flash rapidly if the alarm has sounded since the last time you tested the unit.
Lithium batteries may be subject to disposal restrictions. Check your local government waste disposal center for disposal or recycling procedures.
In addition to standard features, such as its hush button for silencing nuisance alarms, the Kidde 0910 can be made tamper resistant (hard to remove from mounting bracket) and has an alarm memory.
