Kenwood VRS-7200 A/V receiver

Date Published: 1/8/08

Kenwood's "future ready" Fineline products are designed to seamlessly integrate video games and computer audio and video into the home theater experience, and the VRS-7200 squarely hits the mark. The VRS-7200 is a 6.1 system, with a PurePath digital amplifier providing 100 watts into six channels. The slim-line silver finish is intended to match the appearance of modern components and flat-panel televisions, and the look of this receiver is almost as nice as the sound.

The VRS-7200 has been designed for gamers, and it gives a very powerful bass response by using a high-speed MOSFET power supply. The digital amplifier is provided by Texas Instruments, and an Analog Devices processor provides the digital signal processing. The VRS-7200 has many features designed to enhance performance, such as new and improved ground circuitry to get rid of interference and noise, a heavier chassis that reduces vibrations and resonance, and better internal shielding to improve channel separation.

The VRS-7200 is a versatile system with single-zone/dual-source functionality, so users can listen to, for example, MP3 files through the speaker output while video game audio plays through the headphone output. The VRS-7200 receiver is the perfect foundation piece for a complete Fineline home gaming and theater system.
