Kenwood Ez700SR car CD player with Sirius tuner
Date Published: 1/9/08
The Kenwood Ez700SR is one of the first receivers with integrated Sirius Satellite Radio. All listeners need to do is activate a Sirius subscription, plug in the included antenna, and they're good to go. It should be noted that the Ez700SR will not function without an activated Sirius account, and that includes the AM/FM tuner and CD player.
The Ez700SR has presets for up to 18 Sirius stations, and the Channel Scan function auditions 10 seconds from each station to give listeners a quick sample of available content. In addition, it is easy to lock out stations from the Channel Scan to simplify (and shorten) the procedure. One thing that we didn't care for is the one-line display, which only allows one item of information to be displayed, such as artist, station name, or song title. The CD player is compatible with MP3 and WMA files recorded to CD-R and CD-RW, and the Ez700SR includes CD changer controls.
The Ez700SR has Kenwood's System Q sound controls with six equalization curves that can be customized and stored in user memory. Another handy feature is the speaker settings, which will optimize the playback depending on a system's speaker sizes. The Ez700SR also has dual zones, and it is compatible with HD radio. For fans of Sirius Satellite Radio, the Kenwood Ez700SR is a sensible choice.
