Convenience features on units costing an additional $100 or more can be found on this model: a 12-amp motor, chrome wands, and an ergonomic handle equipped with an agitator on/off switch. Kenmore's vacuum also offers true HEPA filtration, which means that it can capture and contain even very small particles. In this case, the HEPA filtration system relies on a permanent cloth dust bag for dirt collection. This bag is very effective at containing particles--more so than any bagless system or most disposable dust bags. And since this bag is not disposable, you'll never run out of vacuum bags.

On the other hand, a cloth bag can be messy to empty and reuse, and after a period of time it can get embedded with dirt. Unlike some canisters, this unit does not offer disposable vacuum bags as an option.
