Kenmore 75062 air conditioner
Date Published: 5/1/07
It is a little more expensive than some other low-power models, but the Kenmore 75062 window air conditioner (Sears item 04275062000) features a low-profile design that lets it squeeze into ordinarily tough-to-fit openings. The 12-inch height makes this unit a good choice for smaller windows. And, despite its sleek inside-the-house profile, it provides 6,000 Btu -- enough to chill a small room.
The unit features three fan-only and three cooling speeds, controllable from a simple, user-friendly touch pad. The air conditioner runs very efficiently, with an Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) of 10.7, and an option that turns off the compressor when the room hits the temperature you've set. At around $229, the Kenmore 75062 air conditioner costs more than similar 6,000-Btu models. But if it allows you to cool a room you thought you'd never be able to because of its small or nontraditionally shaped windows, it's a good investment.
Pros: Unique low profile, energy efficient
Cons: Price for the power
Warranty
1 year, parts and labor; 5 years, sealed system
