This 50-pint large-capacity dehumidifier from Kenmore, the 54501, will handle nearly any space plagued by excess moisture.
Like most of today's dehumidifiers, the 22-pint bucket can be emptied by hand or drained automatically to a floor drain. The bucket is accessible from the front, making this job more convenient. It has an automatic shutoff should the bucket fill and the operator forget to empty it.
Casters allow the unit to be moved on flat surfaces. Recessed grips make it easy to lift the unit when it's empty. An intake air filter keeps the coils relatively clean and can be washed for reuse. The unit is Energy Star compliant, draws 5.7 amps and plugs into common household outlets.
Kenmore's 54501 also has touch controls that allow the user to set humidity levels and an LED display that shows the relative humidity in the room. The high-speed setting (120 cfm) allows users to adjust the fan speed for rapid moisture removal.
