Kelty Speedster Deluxe Stroller
Date Published: 6/4/07
We've come to expect durable products from Kelty, and the Kelty Speedster Deluxe Stroller is no exception. It's covered in a strong nylon ripstop fabric, complete with 360-degree reflective piping and a safety bell.
After testing the Kelty Speedster Deluxe Stroller over a variety of surfaces, including sand, sidewalks and gravel, we find it performs like a champ. We also like the ability to adjust the handlebar height on the Kelty Speedster Deluxe Stroller. It's adjustable from 34 to 45 inches. The Kelty Speedster Deluxe can hold children who weigh up to 70 pounds, nearly double the capacity of many jogger strollers.
The Kelty Speedster Deluxe Stroller is surprisingly easy to assemble. We needed only to remove it from the box and put on the wheels. Plus, the Kelty Speedster Deluxe Stroller has a compact shape and doesn't seem to need as much storage room as other jogger strollers. We also like the fact that it folds easily -- much better than the basic Speedster model -- and folds to a relatively compact size. While we have yet to find a jogger stroller that can fold to a truly compact size, the Kelty Speedster Deluxe comes close.
If you've ever hit your shin on the brake bar that runs horizontally across the back of some jogger strollers, you will appreciate this stroller's design: No bar, no bruised shins. The Kelty Speedster Deluxe Stroller also has a smooth-action reclining seat, which is something the basic Speedster lacked. We appreciate the fender that fully covers the top of the front wheel, and we find the canopy provides adequate coverage. The Kelty Speedster Deluxe, although at a slightly lower price, performs just as well -- if not better -- than more expensive competitors. It gets high marks for comfort, durability and safety.
