JVC XV-N410B DVD player
Date Published: 1/9/08
The JVC SV-N410B is a step up from the XV-N310B in JVC's line of slim, single-disc DVD players, and for the extra $30, the XV-N410B offers a number of additional features and improved connectivity options. This unit is fractionally larger and heavier than the XV-N310B, although it maintains the same slim design, standing at just 1-7/10 inches in height. The unit is still inexpensive and compact enough to consider as a second DVD player for the kitchen, bedroom, or dorm room. The illuminated front panel lights up in blue to complement the rest of the player's black finish, adding a stylish element to most home theater setups.
The XV-N410B features JVC's direct digital progressive scan output via its component video connection. When hooked up to a digital television, the player produces sharp, clean images free from annoying motion artifacts. The S-video and composite video outputs also make the player compatible with just about any analog TV. The XV-N410B offers 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio control, parental controls to prevent young eyes from viewing adult material, and a chapter preview feature. In addition to solid picture quality, the XV-N410B delivers plenty of audio goodies. Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound signals can be routed to a full-featured A/V receiver via the player's optical and coaxial digital audio outputs, or a TV's built-in speakers to can be used to simulate 5.1 surround sound.
Like the XV-N310B, this unit offers handy playback features such as Express Play Start, which will have the first scene from a single-layer DVD on the TV screen in only 4 seconds. A disc memory resume function continues where a viewing session was left off on up to 30 different discs. In addition to DVD-Video, the XV-N410B can handle DVD-R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, SVCD, and VCD, as well as discs loaded with MP3 and WMA digital audio files and JPEG images.Warranty
