The XA-A50CL is an MP3/WMA player housed completely in ear-clip headphones. No player body, nothing to carry, and one cable to deal with.

The player stores up to 60 songs in its 128MB of internal Flash memory. Songs can be updated and deleted by connecting the headset to a PC; no software is needed, as the XA-A50CL shows up as an external storage device for drag-and-drop file loading. Perhaps the most innovative feature is the method of navigating through music files while keeping the player clipped to the ears. The XA-A50CL uses a voice-guidance system that talks users through the process, and it is available in three languages.

The XA-A50CL plays for up to 20 hours with a single AAA battery. The ear clips have a very elegant gloss-black finish with silver buttons to control the player. While previous headset players limited listeners to the radio, JVC has blown away all preconceived notions with the introduction of the XA-A50CL.
