JVC LT-26X776 26-inch LCD HDTV

Date Published: 10/26/07

The JVC LT-26X776 is a 26-inch widescreen LCD HDTV that would be at home in a bedroom, living room, or den. The slim monitor comes with a removable tilt-and-swivel pedestal stand that can be removed for the option of wall mounting using a separately available mounting plate.

A slender black frame surrounds the wide-format screen to set off the picture, while stereo speakers are built into the silver panel below the screen, keeping the design compact.

The LCD display has a native resolution of 1,366X768 and a viewing angle of 170 degrees. All types of content are up-converted to 770p, resulting in a very smooth image with no jagged edges and plenty of detail. A 3-D Y/C digital comb filter eliminates rainbow effects and dot crawl, and the picture can be quickly adjusted using five video presets and four picture aspect modes.

The stereo speakers produce a total of 20 watts of audio output, which can be set for virtual surround sound and enhanced bass. Convenience features include a front-panel lock, channel and video input labeling, closed captions, and a multifunction timer to turn the TV on and off automatically.

Split-screen viewing is possible with an external signal source, and the picture can be frozen with a touch of a button. The LT-26X776 also has a picture-out-of-picture index for previewing programming on several channels at once.

The LT-26X776 has a number of handy inputs and outputs for use with additional audio/video equipment, with an HDMI input, two IEEE 1394 inputs, a CableCARD slot, an auto-sensing component video input, two S-video inputs, and three audio/video inputs, along with audio/video outputs and a headphone jack. The included universal remote control has an intuitive layout, and its illuminated buttons make nighttime use a snap.

Images are sharp and flicker-free on the LCD display, while color is adjusted along five axes, ensuring accuracy and precision, making the JVC LT-26X776 a 26-inch set worth considering.
