The JVC FS-G5 is quite a handy minisystem, and the price is right. This bookshelf system would fit perfectly in a home office, and it's attractive enough to go in a real office as well.
With its USB input, the FS-G5 can play digital audio from a computer or just about any portable digital audio player. It is also compatible with MP3 files burned to CD-R/RW. The system features a five-disc changer, and with discs loaded with MP3 files, you'll have days and days of music available. The changer is programmable, with a 32-track playlist and random and repeat playback modes. The FS-G5 also has a built-in digital AM/FM tuner, with presets to store 30 FM and 15 AM stations.
The FS-G5's internal amplifier provides 90 watts per channel, for a total power rating of 180 watts. Each bass reflex speaker has a 3-15/16-inch woofer and a 1-5/8-inch tweeter to provide a balanced sound. JVC's Active Hyper Bass PRO adds a realistic bass component without causing distortion.
For digital audio junkies on a budget, the JVC FS-G5 compact stereo system is a smart choice.
