JBL GTO601.1 II car subwoofer amplifier
Date Published: 6/9/08
The JBL GTO601.1 II is a basic mono amplifier, but it serves its role as a subwoofer amplifier very well. The GTO601.1 II sports a Class D power supply, which is ideally suited for powering a subwoofer, with low-distortion in the low frequency ranges it handles. This unit is a 600-watt (peak) amplifier, rated at a CEA2006-complaint 424 watts (continuous) into one channel at 4 ohms or 580 watts into 2 ohms. It has parallel connections for two subwoofers.
There is a line-level input, along with a pass-through for a full-range line-level output. The unit has a variable bass boost. The low-pass filter is continuously variable from 32Hz up to 320Hz, and it has a fixed slope of 12dB/octave. An optional wired remote control allows the bass level to be controlled from the driver's seat. The GTO601.1 II is a very functional, yet simple subwoofer amplifier.
