Using three threads will allow you to complete narrow or wide overlock seams and finishes, and decorative bindings, finishes, and trims. The differential feed system, which was once a very expensive feature, is now fairly common on entry-level machines such as this one. This system feeds fabrics evenly to effectively prevent slippage and puckering. This feature is particularly useful on lightweight fabrics, knits, and materials that require matching, such as plaids and stripes. Pressor feet snap on and off easily--no screwdrivers are required to switch them as you change stitching techniques. The cutter is adjustable, so you get the desired result, regardless of fabric type. Adjustable stitch length is sufficient for most tasks and allows you to sew stitches from 1-5mm in length.

Easier to thread than some earlier models, the Huskylock 901 has lay-in tension that eliminates some of the tricky threading problems common to many sergers. Like most serger machines, all scraps are collected in a removable scrap catching bin located on the front of the machine.
