When it comes to spills, spots, dirty floors and carpet, it's a clean sweep with Hoover's SteamVac DualV F7412900 wet/dry vacuum. One pass with this hard working cleaning machine is all it takes to visually see results. Equipped with a powerful 12-amp motor, the SteamVac DualV works its magic by applying and scrubbing hot tap water and cleaning solution over carpets. During the process, six rotating brushes gently loosen dirt, cleaning all sides of the carpet fiber. We especially like the three-speed action, which includes the spill pick up mode, gentle scrub mode or the power scrub mode for particularly soiled areas or stubborn spots.
We put this machine to the test on a section of really dirty carpet. We expected some degree of clean, but we were amazed at how really clean it looked. And it came clean quick thanks to the unit's 14-inch wide path that provides 20 percent more brushing and cleaning action than comparable models. The machine also produces equal suction across the entire cleaning path. This machine is equipped with two tanks: one for the cleaning water/solution and one for the recovery of dirty water. We found the cleanup to be a breeze as each tank is easy to see, remove, rinse out or refill, and replace.
Besides its cleaning performance, other features we like about this unit is that it's pretty easy to use. The 30-foot cord can easily handle most rooms on one outlet, and the 8-foot hose extends that reach even further. A removable tool caddy stores the hose and other attachments, including a hard floor squeegee, stair/upholstery nozzle and the SpinScrub hand tool. But you need to unwind the cord in order to remove the caddy. And the hose doesn't wrap as easily around for storage like other models.
For cleaning action you can count on, Hoover's SteamVac DualV F7412900 is one mean cleaning machine.
Pros: Powerful 12-amp motor, great cleaning action, cleans easily and easy to clean, three speeds for greater versatility, cleans spills up to one gallon, 14-inch wide cleaning path, good suction, two tank system, extra long cord, removable tool caddy
Cons: You need to unwind the cord in order to remove the tool caddy, the same hook is used to wind both the hose (top portion) and the cord (bottom portion)
