The Hoover SteamVac F7425900 Dual V Widepath steamer cleaner with Auto Rinse and an onboard heater is preferable any day to those machines that rely solely on hot tap water.
Just like washing your hands or your clothing, you simply get better results cleaning carpet when you use hot water. To ensure water is really hot, this Hoover SteamVac heats water for you as you clean.
Although more expensive than some so-called cleaners, this one actually does clean. With six removable rotating brushes, this model has more brushes to do the cleaning than most similar machines. We also like the fact that this model not only cleans carpets but also washes out the detergent with an auto rinse.
Because of the rinse feature this model has two water tanks--one for collecting dirty water and one for rinsing with clean water. This model also offers a convenient detergent mixing system. You simply add the detergent and the machine does the rest. No cumbersome diluting of detergent is required.
Included with this model are a removable nozzle, a hand tool, and an attachment for bare floor cleaning. Most users of this model have reported satisfaction when they pull the product from the box.
It's easy to operate with a short learning curve and does an acceptable job of pulling dirt from carpet. But, problems are far more likely to arise over the life of the machine; the durability of this model has been called into question by some users. Other users have reported leaking and rapid wear and tear.
However, even with these reports we prefer the Hoover SteamVac F7425900 over many others.
Pros: Easy to use, has onboard heater, two water tanks and rinses
