Hoover Agility F6212900 Heavyweight Deep-cleaning Machine
Date Published: 3/25/08
Finally there's a carpet-cleaning machine for less than $200 that offers onboard heating. Hoover's Agility F6212900 is what we're talking about--and apparently we're not the only ones talking about this model.
Thus far, reports from users of this model are unusually positive. Simply put, we find models like this one that heat the water do a far superior job to those that simply operate on hot tap water.
This model has simple-to-use tanks that snap on and off the machine in a flash. You need to only fill one tank with water and add some detergent. Then when you're done empty the dirty water out into the sink or toilet.
Pushing, pulling, and steering this machine about is almost effortless. The surge sprayer is effective for heavily soiled areas, and most users reported good results with the attachment tools. Carpets cleaned with this model were surprisingly clean based on results we've experienced with other models.
Effective at extracting water as well as removing soil, this model left carpets that dried quickly. Storing this machine is also easier than in the past, thanks to a new fold-down design.
This model is proof that finally manufacturers are coming up with carpet cleaners that really can get the job done. As for negative criticism, the cord is a bit on the short side (at 24 feet) and some leakage around the tanks was occasionally noted.
Pros: Offers on-board heater, is easy to use, fill and store
Cons: Short cord
