The Harman Kardon HK 3480 is a terrific stereo receiver in a world that is forgetting how incredible a stereo recording can sound. The HK 3480 features an amplifier capable of up to 120 watts per channel (obviously, into two channels) with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz into 8 ohms. For driving two different speaker pairs, the HK 3480 has A/B switching, so one set of speakers can be used for music and a different pair (for example) for television.

The HK 3480 also features a separate output for a subwoofer, as most speakers can benefit from a little help in the low-end department. There are seven audio and four video inputs, so a variety of sources can be utilized. There is also a high-quality phono preamp for directly connecting a turntable. The HK 3480 has presets for up to 30 AM/FM stations.

The front panel display has a choice of three brightness settings. The receiver comes with a remote that can control other components, reducing clutter. The Harman Kardon HK 3480 is a very capable stereo receiver, with a powerful and clean signal.
