The Hamilton Beach WaveStation 50754 aptly gets its name from a patented "Wave-Action," which continually forces mixtures into the blades for smooth no-chunk results.

Unlike traditional blenders, which spin contents around the sidewalls of the jar, the WaveStation blades are shaped to swirl ingredients up, around, and back down, creating the continuous wave and ensuring smooth, even blending.

This unit features a large-capacity, double-wall, clear plastic jar with thick, thermal insulated walls tapering from a wide, top diameter of 5-3/4 inches to a 4-inch base. The carafe has front markings for up to seven cups or 56 ounces, as well as rear milliliter lines for easy measuring. A white lid with clear filler cap twists and snaps into place for a leak-free seal. The jar itself slides easily onto a matching white base, which has pushbutton speed controls running down the side.

A powerful 700-watt motor is operated through the use of eight buttons, which include off, Lo, High, and two pulse controls that vary the mixing speed from stir, aerate, puree, crumb, and chop to the higher speeds of grate, ice-breaker, smoothie, milkshake, and icy drink.

The complete blender assembly stands 16 inches tall and 8 inches wide. It has five nonskid feet, bottom cord storage, and the added convenience of a front dispensing spout so you can prepare and serve blended treats without pouring or spilling. The removable dispenser spout and the insulated jar keeps frozen mixtures icy cold right on your counter (for reasonable periods of time depending on humidity and room temperature.) The jar also has a pouring spout for thicker foods and liquids, and the entire unit disassembles for easy and thorough cleanup.
