Hamilton Beach Chrome Classic Electric Knife Set 74275
Date Published: 7/21/08
The Hamilton Beach Chrome Classic Electric Knife Set 74275 comes with a black power handle with a chrome insert, two interlocking serrated blades, an 10-7/10-inch carving fork and black plastic storage case.
The stainless-steel blades have a safety thumb grip for easy insertion and removal. The blades lock into place on the power handle and can be removed by depressing the blade release button on the top of the handle. A plastic guard is also included to prevent accidental nicks or cuts.
Pulling the on/off switch toward you activates the power. The switch is located on the bottom of the handle within easy reach of your index finger. You must hold the on switch continuously for the unit to operate. Once you release the button, the back and forth cutting motion stops.
The Hamilton Beach Chrome Classic is extremely efficient for slicing cooked meats. The blades glide effortlessly through the meat for quick, easy slicing. You can use this knife for cutting breads and baked goods as well. You should not use the knife to cut frozen foods or uncooked meat.
We were extremely impressed with the blade release, which not only unlocks the blades but also ejects them slightly for easy removal. The black contoured handle houses the 100-watt motor and provides a comfortable grip and the long power cord gives ample room for maneuvering the knife around a large roast or ham.
We were confused as to why this appliance bears the name "Chrome Classic" since the handle is primarily black. Nevertheless, it is a sharp-looking electric knife that is every bit as efficient as you'd expect.
