The Hamilton Beach Change-a-Bowl Chopper 72800 is an ultra-convenient mini chopper that comes with a 1-3/4-cup clear work bowl and three reusable GladWare plastic storage bowls with lids.

The unique design of this chopper enables you to insert a GladWare bowl, assemble the blade, lid and power head and chop foods right into the bowl for serving or storage. The bowls come with plastic lids for convenient airtight storage. Because there are multiple bowls, you can chop several different ingredients in succession without having to wash the work bowl. Just remove the used bowl and add a fresh one. You also can buy extra GladWare bowls for virtually unlimited chopping potential.

Besides the convenience factor, the separate bowls are also helpful for keeping strong-flavored foods separate from one another. The unique stainless-steel cutting blade has sharp edges facing four different directions for the fastest, most efficient chopping. We were amazed at the speed and uniform results we got with this appliance. As with other choppers, you need to cut larger produce items, such as apples or onions, into quarters. Nuts, spices and smaller fruits or vegetables can be processed whole.

The shallow work bowl allows plenty of room for the blades to toss foods up and into the cutting path. The top-mounted motor resembles the shaft of an immersion blender and adds another 5 inches to the total height of the unit when assembled. The powerful 150-watt motor breezes through most tasks in just seconds. To activate the motor, you simply press down on the power head. Pressing and releasing gives you pulse-like chopping; pressing and holding gives continuous chopping.

The GladWare bowls are the perfect size for making and serving herb butters, fresh dips or relishes. The Double sealing lids provide twice the protection against leaking. The containers are safe for use in the freezer, microwave and dishwasher.

For its size, price and versatility, this chopper provides an excellent value. What's more, it's not overly noisy and we consider that a bonus.
