The Hamilton Beach BrewStation Plus 47665 is a coffee brewing and dispensing machine that lets you serve yourself a cup of coffee while the rest remains warm in a heated internal reservoir.

This unit consists of a 14.5-inch-tall base with removable coffee reservoir and filter basket. Since there's no carafe, you never have to worry about pouring or messy spills. When you're ready for a cup of coffee, just press your cup or mug against the convenient dispensing bar and the coffee will flow freely into the cup. As soon as you remove the cup, the flow of coffee stops.

The Hamilton Beach BrewStation Plus makes up to 12 cups of coffee in a single batch. If more coffee is desired, you can dispense the coffee into mugs or a serving pitcher and set the machine to brew another cycle. The dispensing area is about 7 inches tall and can accommodate all types of cups and mugs (even tall commuter mugs). To fill a taller wide-mouth carafe or pitcher, however, you first have to dispense the coffee into a mug or measuring cup, and then transfer to the carafe.

We noticed that the coffee stayed quite hot, even after more than an hour. Because the coffee brews directly into a thermal holding tank, steam and flavor are locked inside and the warming plate doesn't have to work as hard to keep the coffee heated. This virtually eliminates the scorched coffee you sometimes get when coffee remains on a heating plate too long.

We liked the one-handed dispensing feature and were impressed with the dripless spout. The BrewStation also has a small removable drip tray at its base to catch the occasional stray drips that may fall.

The BrewStation uses disposable cupcake style paper filters and requires less than a full tablespoon of ground coffee per cup. You can sneak a cup of coffee during brewing, but for best taste you should wait until at least half of the selected cups have brewed.

A handy feature on this model is the programmable clock/timer, which lets you preset the brewing time up to 24 hours in advance. The coffeemaker will begin brewing at the selected time so coffee is ready and waiting for you. Upon completion of brewing, the BrewStation switches automatically to keep warm and uses an internal thermostat to hold coffee at an ideal drinking temperature. After two hours, the BrewStation shuts itself off automatically.

This unit also comes with a coffee measuring spoon and a cleaner/descaler packet. Optional accessories for the Hamilton Beach BrewStation include a water filtration wand and permanent stainless-steel filter.
