Haier Table-Top Dishwasher HDT18PA
Date Published: 9/11/06
For many apartment dwellers who absolutely hate hand washing dishes, the little Haier Table-Top Dishwasher HDT18PA is an answer to their prayers. Lower in price than a full-size model, the HDT18PA may be a bit bulky to store, but it's large enough to wash the dishes a person or two might accumulate in a day of light eating or after one hearty meal. This pint-size unit requires a faucet hook-up for operation, so you'll want to keep it on a counter or near the kitchen sink. Many owners just leave the HDT18PA on the counter until it fills up and then connect it to the water for a washing. Still others store it and then move it to the sink when needed.
Similar to a regular dishwasher, only smaller, this unit has two racks. The upper rack folds down to allow larger items to fit in on the bottom. Maximum capacity of this unit is four complete place settings. The controls are electronic pushbutton and allow a choice of three cycles: heavy, normal, and rinse/hold. Each rack is solidly built and rolls out easily for loading. Like most dishwashers, this one offers a silverware basket, a rinse agent dispenser, and a detergent receptacle.
It comes packed with everything needed for installation--rubber washers, a quick connector, a faucet adapter, and a 6-foot cord. You will need access to a 15-amp power outlet. Before purchasing check the clearance of your space against the measurements given to ensure a proper fit. Due to its specialized nature, you won't find this tabletop dishwasher displayed in very many stores. The best source is often internet shopping sites. We found the Haier Table-Top Dishwasher HDT18PA at www.walmart.com and other sites.
