Graco Spree Travel System 7E01JON3

Date Published: 2/18/08

As one of the least expensive of Graco's travel systems, the Spree Travel System 7E01JON3 has a lot to offer. It has many of the same features as the higher-priced travel systems, and saves you a few bucks to boot.

We tested the Spree Travel System in the Jonelle pattern, a cute-as-a-button pink floral fabric with coordinated plaid and solid accents. The stroller is a lightweight model with plenty of extras, including a one-hand fold with an automatic latch that works better than some Graco models we've encountered. We like the stroller's storage, which includes an underseat basket, canopy pockets and a parent tray with a lidded compartment and two cup-holders. There's also a pivoting child's tray with a stationary cup holder. The tray can't be removed from the stroller, but most of the time we are OK with the option of simply moving it out of the way. There is a multi-position reclining seat with a five-point harness (it can convert to a three-point harness), as well as a large canopy. We'd have preferred larger, pneumatic tires with all-wheel suspension, but at this price point, this feature would not normally be offered.

The Graco Spree Travel System includes the SnugRide infant car seat and a "stay-in-car" base. It includes a removable infant head support, but we were able to use this feature with varying degrees of success. Depending on the size of the infant, the head support may simply not fit well enough to be effective. As expected, the SnugRide has an adjustable five-point adjustable harness. The buttons to adjust the straps' height and length were difficult to locate, but we love the ability to remove and machine-wash the car seat cover.

If you're in the market for a travel system, and want to stick to a budget, then you should give the Graco Spree Travel System a closer look.

Pros: Price, plenty of storage
Cons: Harness adjustment buttons hard to find, car seat cover machine washable
