Graco ComfortSport Convertible Car Seat 8632SVT

Date Published: 4/9/08

Is your little one ready to graduate from a rear-facing infant seat to a front-facing car seat, but you're overwhelmed by the choices and underwhelmed by your bank account? The Graco ComfortSport Convertible Car Seat 8632SVT is a sound option, given the flexibility, comfort, and convenience it offers at a reasonable price.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends you keep your child in a rear-facing position as long as possible, at least until 20 pounds and one year of age. Just because she weighs in at just over 22 pounds, doesn't mean she isn't still vulnerable. The ComfortSport Convertible Seat lets her face the back of the car until she reaches 30 pounds, at which time you can turn her around for a front-facing view. And the front-adjusting five-point harness strap lets you buckle her in easily and securely regardless of which way she's facing.

The shell of the seat is deep and the side wings are made of energy absorbing foam liner. Like most things children come into contact with, this car seat will, eventually, get dirty, and while parents will appreciate the charcoal fabric with slick silver straps, one can still toss the seat cover in the washer. Remember not to put it in the dryer, however, or that comfy seat pad may lose its perfect fit. The same goes for the detachable plush head pillow. The cup holder and snack tray were met with delight by our little tester, and parents will appreciate the mesh pocket for storing toys, mittens, tissues, and more.

The Graco ComfortSport Convertible Car Seat 8632SVT is an affordable and practical unit.
